We are Family Farm Action Alliance, a new research, policy development, market innovator, and advocacy organization dedicated to building a sustainable, inclusive economy that respects our land, natural resources, and neighbors around the world.
We are Family Farm Action Alliance, a new 501(c)(3) research, policy development, market innovator, and advocacy organization dedicated to building a sustainable, inclusive economy that respects our land, natural resources, and neighbors around the world. We envision a food system and economy in which everyone has the right to share in the prosperity they help build.
You probably know our partner organization, Family Farm Action, a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan coalition of farmers and workers building the “political muscle” to fight for a bright economic future for our rural communities.
Together, we represent a seamless chain of action from research and policy development to the adoption of the policy through legislative action by elected officials who support our vision for a more just food system.
Since the launch of Family Farm Action Alliance, we’ve been busy! Here are some highlights of our recent work:
- In the face of the economic fallout brought on by COVID-19, we went to work pushing for policies centered on an economy that works on behalf of farmers, ranchers, workers, and small businesses, and is inclusive of all people.
- We issued public comments on the newly proposed Federal Trade Commission rule that sets out standards for product labels using “Made in the U.S.A.” Our aim is to stop the mislabeling of imported meat so consumers can make informed choices and U.S. farmers have a fair shot to compete in the marketplace.
- We have been hard at work finalizing a groundbreaking report that details the abusive state of monopoly power in our food system and its impacts on farmers, workers, animals and the land. Stay tuned for information about our paper release event!
