NCBA is spending checkoff dollars to make their industrial meat system appear “sustainable”

Well over a year ago, I exchanged emails with the Beef Board on the subject of checkoff dollars and the GRSB. I was assured that no checkoff dollars were going toward NCBA’s work with the GRSB.
Subsequently, NCBA’s Beef Sustainability Assessment appeared with the checkoff logo and the statement that it was funded by the checkoff. The Arizona Beef Council website has a link to the Assessment, also with the checkoff logo.
The Assessment has much of the GRSB language together with other materials from the GRSB website and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization’s website on “The Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock.” The FAO is of course a member of the GRSB.
NCBA is simply not truthful as to how it spends checkoff dollars.
