Nebraska Farmers Union members at their convention in Grand Island Saturday will hear from former GIPSA Administrator J. Dudley Butler.
Butler says he’ll talk about the need to continue the fight against market concentration and finishing the job of passing antitrust legislation such as what was proposed with the GIPSA rule during his tenure at USDA.
Butler says in order for farmers and ranchers to win the fight against antitrust and market concentration, there’s a need to work with non ag groups and build coalitions in order to accomplish that.
Butler is scheduled to speak at 9a.m. Saturday. The convention starts Friday and wraps up on Saturday in Grand Island.
