Supporting Kathryn Bedell for Mesa County Commissioner – How to build a new local/regional food system and Western Slope economy that feeds everyone.

EXPERIENCE TO BUILD A BETTER NORMAL

I’m Dr. Kathryn Bedell. I’m a veterinarian, a rancher, and a business owner. Today I serve as Mesa County’s representative on the state Agriculture Commission. I’m also a mom and come from a proud family who’s served in the US military since the early 1900’s.

We’ve got some deep roots here in Mesa County. A culture of trail-blazing toughness, independence, and family. I’ve had the chance to live that legacy, bringing quality local farm produce and beef to families like yours. I’ve run that business through the booms and busts that many of you know all too well.

As a business owner, I’ve spent the last two decades watching our region and our livelihoods lurch from one crisis to the next and asking, “are we really looking at our problems in the right way?”

I’m running with a vision to make Mesa County a hub for a new generation of Western living: A hub for homegrown jobs that don’t pack up and move away. A hub for a new generation of blue collar, agriculture, and high-tech services jobs where families can make a good living. And a hub for the quality of life and services Mesa families deserve – public safety, smart medicine, great senior living, and good schools.
