In the wake of reports that an OSI Foods unit in China was making and shipping meat products made from expired or moldy raw material, McDonald’s Corp. says it’s sticking with OSI as its supplier in China, even as other foodservice customers say they will not.

According to media and wire reports, McDonald’s will move its sourcing from the Shanghai Husi Food Co. Ltd. unit of OSI to other facilities that the Aurora, Ill.-based company operates elsewhere in the country.

“According to OSI, Chinese authorities have inspected Husi’s other facilities, allowing us to confidently serve our customers,” according to reports on the fast-food giant’s statement.

Yum! Brands, on the other hand, said it will not buy from OSI for its KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut restaurants in China, Australia and the United States. Starbucks has said it will not buy from Shanghai Husi.
